Clackmannanshire has a deep-rooted whisky heritage dating back to the 1720s when Kennetpans Distillery was founded by the Stein family and became the largest distillery in Scotland. Situated on the Firth of Forth, the ruins of what was once considered to be the home of whisky distilling and the birthplace of one of the world’s most famous whisky brands, Haig. More recently, distilleries at Carsebridge and Cambus continued this tradition producing single grain whisky until their respective closures in 1983 & 1993.
Clackmannanshire continues to play a critical role in a global industry which is today worth billions to the Scottish economy with DIAGEO one of the major employers in the county through the European Technical Centre and Archive in Menstrie, Scottish cooperage base in Cambus as well as the bond at Blackgrange which is the largest warehouse complex in Europe holding about three million casks.
Attendees will receive a special commemorative glass and will have the opportunity to sample and hear from a variety of whisky producers. A curated selection of exclusive masterclasses will also take place at each session and are not to be missed.
With exclusive event-only discounts and purchase offers, as well as limited-edition bottlings, an interactive whisky exhibition, coopering display, and much, much more, Clackmannanshire’s Whisky Festival is guaranteed to be a unique and memorable event.
